Are you ready for a challenge?

Whether you’re virtually riding from home or in-person on event day, our Bike MS 2021 Cycling Challenges will motivate you to take on the open road! Join a passionate community of riders as you rack up miles, share landmarks along the way and aim for the top of the leaderboard.

My Route, My Destination

Your training rides bring you out into your community and past some scenic destinations, and we want to see them! Every week starting 5 weeks before your ride, you’ll have the opportunity to snap a selfie at a designated landmark and share it with your fellow Bike MS cyclists. Complete all 4 challenges by your event day and earn a Bike MS-branded tire tool and be entered into a grand prize drawing for one of two Garmin Edge 130s. Flats happen—at least you’ll be prepared.

How to Participate:

Step 1

Ride and take a picture at one of our challenge locations. It’s a great way for a socially-distanced get together with your friends, family or team—wherever they are! Check out the challenges below.

Step 2

Submit your photo for each challenge through the online form on your local event page.
Tell us which challenge you completed and view the gallery of photos from everyone riding in their communities.
Don’t forget to add some cool frames and stickers from our photo booth in the Bike MS app to your picture too! (You can find the photo booth under the My Page tab and by clicking filters at the top.)

Step 3

We want to see you on our leaderboards! Each week we’ll keep you motivated with a suggested mileage goal to help you earn badges and get you riding and ready for Bike MS.
Download the Bike MS app to train and fundraise on the go. You can link your activity with Apple Health, Google Fit, or Strava to earn badges for completing miles as you train for riding. Plus, earn the exclusive Bike MS 2021 badge in the app for logging miles on event day.

It doesn’t matter if you follow along each week or complete all the challenges at once! Go to the Challenge Photos page of your local event site to see your local leaderboards, upload photos and view the contest gallery.

Week 1

You got this! For your week 1 challenge, you will be riding to a local fire station, snapping a pic, and uploading it to your Bike MS event page for a chance to win!

This week we’ll build our fitness and lay the groundwork to complete the event. For novice riders, you should log 10 miles this week and intermediate to advanced riders should plan to hit at least 30 miles this week. Rack up those mileage badges and we’ll look for you on the leaderboards.

Week 2

Take it one mile at a time. MS doesn’t stop and neither do we! For your week 2 challenge, find a route that includes a local sporting venue or track. Snap a photo and submit it to your Bike MS website to be entered to win.

Share your route and destination with 10 family members and friends this week and encourage them to make a pledge (e.g. $1 for every 1 mile you ride). You can send them a message right from the Bike MS app.

This week’s destination challenge comes from Jorge Enriquez who rides with MS:

Now you should be hitting your stride. For novice riders, you should plan to ride 20 miles this week and intermediate to advanced riders should plan to log at least 40 miles this week. Let’s see who earns more badges and moves up the leaderboard!

Week 3

You’ll get in your miles this week for sure! We want to see the most iconic and scenic landmark in your area, so what site makes your town or community unique? Snap a photo and upload it to your Bike MS event website for a chance to win!

And after you are finished riding, use the power of social media to share your story, videos and photos, and launch a Facebook Fundraiser.

Don’t forget to get in your miles to be ready for event day. For novice riders, you should plan to ride 30 miles this week and intermediate to advanced riders should plan to log at least 50 miles this week.

Week 4

You haven’t seen your last mile yet! Get your ride on! For your week 4 challenge, snap a photo and say hello to the folks at your local bike shop. Then, submit your pic on your Bike MS event website to be entered to win!

Thank you for taking on this challenge and joining the other riders in sharing your Bike MS journey. Why not make an even greater impact through fundraising. Tag 5 people each day until ride day and ask them to donate $5 toward your fundraising goal!
