Whether you're a veteran cyclist or you're new to the sport, if you're new to Bike MS you are a Rookie Rider, and we want to ensure your first experience is the best it can be.
The Rookie Rider program and this page are dedicated to making this happen.

- Exceed your $300 fundraising minimum by August 22 and have your rider packet mailed to your prior to ride weekend…saving you lots of time ride morning! Learn more.

- Raise $1,000 or more and become a Top Fundraiser. It's not hard to get there, and we're here to help you along the way.
Win big the week of August 16 by participating in Fundraising Week. The individual that raises the most money online this week will earn a Bike MS Prize Pack. Learn more.
Make it personal! Tell your donors why you are riding and how their dollars make a difference. Customize your page, located in the Fundraising Center, with your story, reason for riding, photos and more!
Create a Facebook Fundraiser - on average, Bike MS cyclists using a Facebook Fundraiser raise $850.
Log into your Fundraising Center to see what badges you could earn, stream live, send incentives, check your donations, send emails and increase your goal as you continually reach it.

Set your sights on earning the coveted Rookie of the Year Award - this special award recipient will gain recognition at the Award Ceremony.
Attend the Virtual Safety Clinic, Thursday, September 2 at 7pm: Is this your first-time riding with thousands of other cyclists? Has it been a while since you rode a long distance? If you answered yes to either question, please join us for a virtual Safety Clinic hosted by Bike MS Staff and special guests.
Get Your Bike Inspected: To receive free bike maintenance ride weekend from our sponsoring bike shops your bike must have a Bike MS Inspected sticker. *Shops may charge up to $15 if inspection is done after September 18.

Take part in Zwift training rides to join your Bike MS peers across the country on a virtual training ride. Plus connect with one of our local sponsoring bike shops, many also offer training rides.

If you are living with MS, participate in the "I Ride with MS" program.
Participate in the Cycling Challenges, starting August 23, by posting your progress on the City to Shore event page. All those who participate in all 4 weeks of challenges will earn a bike tire tool as well as entrance to a grand prize raffle to win a Garmin Edge 130.
Wear your orange ribbon included in your rider packet. Everybody has a reason for participating in Bike MS. The orange ribbon serves as a reminder of why we ride. Proudly wear this ribbon Bike MS weekend. If you are riding for someone, have them sign your ribbon provided by City to Shore mission sponsor Ivy Rehab.
Wear your Rookie Rider sticker! Pick up your designated sticker at your start location and wear with pride. All cyclists are encouraged to ensure that our Rookie Riders feel welcome by connecting with them. This sticker will help us do that!
Visit the Rookie Rider tent at the start, if you are riding the 75/100 Mile route, for any last-minute questions or to pick up your rider packet.
Take part in the Rookie Rider Raffle
Participate in the Rookie Rest Stop Raffle along the route to make YOUR mark against MS and win big! Here's how:

- Check in with staff/volunteers at each rest stop to receive a mark on your rider number.
- Visit the Rookie Tent at the Ocean City finish line to show your 'marks' and receive your raffle ticket.
- Receive a minimum of 2 'marks' to be entered to win an exclusive prize!
At long last! The results of the Rookie Raffle are in. Thank you to all 365 Rookies who participated in the raffle this year. The competition was strong!
