Volunteers Power Bike MS
From planning event details and stuffing packets to providing safety and support for cyclists on ride day, Bike MS® would not be possible without volunteers.
Everyone Can Volunteer
Families, corporate groups, and individuals of all ages and abilities are welcome to volunteer. We are always looking for youth clubs, corporate and service-oriented community groups to lend a hand before, during and after our events. Whether you’re living with MS and just want to say thank you at the Finish Line or you’re ready to captain a rest stop, there’s a place for you at Bike MS!
When you volunteer, you become part of the MS movement – a community of passionate individuals working together to create a world free of MS. Together we provide support, have fun and make a difference for the nearly 1 million people living with MS in the United States.
Some volunteer positions require specialized skills, a criminal and/or DMV background check and some may involve driving or heavy lifting. Contact us for more details.
Volunteer & Fundraise – The Best of Both Worlds!
Did you know that volunteers are some of our most powerful fundraisers? Bike MS volunteers who choose to fundraise get access to the same great fundraising tools as Bike MS participants.
Simply let us know that you are interested in fundraising (you'll be asked when you register) and we'll make sure you get set up with a Fundraising Center where you can set a fundraising goal, update your personal webpage to share your story with others, e-mail supporters, track your progress and qualify for great fundraising prizes!

Congratulations to our 2021 Volunteer Award winners!
Congratulations to our volunteers for Bike MS: New York City 2021! The individuals and groups listed below went above and beyond in their efforts to support our mission, securing another successful year for Bike MS: New York City as returned in person.
Award recipients were recognized for their achievements at our Bike MS: NYC Virtual Awards Ceremony on February 17th. Thank you again to all our volunteers for their hard work and determination in 2021!
Rookie Volunteer of the Year: Keagan Joyce
Keagan holds our mission very close to her and her dedication to us makes that apparent. Even though she is far from a Rookie within the Society this was her first-year volunteering with us at Bike MS: New York City.
Volunteer Spirit of the Year Award: Danny and Fogo Azul
Each year, Dany and other members of Fogo Azul, NYC’s Women Brazilian-American Style Drumline, come out to cheer you on (or drum you on) as you cross the finish line. Dany and Fogo Azul’s spirit is not only energetic but also contagious. It is impossible not to feel their support and positivity through their presence.
Volunteer Team Spirit of the Year Award: Autumn Kovach and NYU Cheer
Autumn and her team from NYU Cheer come out year after year to cheer on our riders and celebrate at the finish line. Autumn and her team are such a special part of Bike New York City and her positive spirit remains consistent every single time I speak with her. She is warm and uplifting and we are so grateful for her continuous support.
