I'm cycling toward a world free of MS, and for Science!
I’ve signed up for Bike MS – a fundraising ride that changes the world for people affected by multiple sclerosis. I’m going the distance with my training and commitment, and I hope I can count on your support as I prepare for this incredible experience.
I was diagnosed with MS in March 2021. This has been a challenging journey for not only myself, but my friends and family. I'm training to ride 100 miles, and cross off the "century ride" off the list of personal physical challenges.
I also ride with MEAT FIGHT, a bicycling team dedicated towards fund raising and supporting it's members who have MS. Meat Fight has donated over 300 bikes to individuals with MS and has supported countless members quests to run marathons and iron man competitions. I am bike #304!
It's amazing that in the past twenty years, the amount of Disease Modifying Treatments went from 0, to over 20! This is incredible and helps people living with MS have an opportunity to treat the disease and thwart progression and further disability. It gives me hope that with these types of treatments made possible through scientific progress and research, we can one day live in a world free of MS and many other neurodegenerative diseases. I want to also raise people's awareness of disparities of access to these treatments: these treatments often require insurance, and making these treatments more affordable and accessible is important to me.
I’ve set an ambitious goal because I know that with support from people like you, I can get there.
MS is a devastating, unpredictable disease. But money raised through Bike MS fuels cutting-edge MS research and critical services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives.
Please help me reach my goal.
