We're cycling toward a world free of MS.
Circle of Friends began in 2001 when co-founder Tanya Nordhaus was diagnosed with MS. She had done the ride for 10 years prior, the last of those years of which she rode with her fellow team co-founder Scott Anderson. Circle of Friends began with just four members raising about $2,000 collectively. We are a proud team that is determined to end MS. For the past few years, we have been the top fundraising team in the mitten state raising between $38,000 (Covid year) to $70,000. While we have fun on the Bike MS event, no doubt about that, we are all fully committed to our team motto "It's more than just a ride."
As a team we rode the Bike MS Mid-Michigan for 20 years. However, due to dwindling numbers that ride has been canceled indefinitely. While we are sad to lose our ride, we are doing our best to continue our mission, which is to support the National MS Society in their quest to end MS. We are doing two events as a team.
One, on July 24th we will be hosting our own Sunrise to Sunset Challenge at Island Lake State Park in Brighton, MI. So whether you want to bike, run, walk, hike, swim, or a combination of those activities, we want you to join our team. In order for 100% of the donations you raise to go to the National MS Society, we are asking interested participants to join Circle of Friends as "Virtual Participants" for Bavarian. That way you have a fundraising page to which to direct donors. Kick off for our event will be at 8:30am and closing ceremonies will be at 8:30pm. More information at www.teamcircleoffriends.com.
Two, we will be participating in Bavarian as a team. You can ride 30, 50, 75, or 100 miles per day. So register for the ride via the button above as a member of Circle of Friends. We are a great group. You'll love us. :)
If you’d like to support us, please donate or join our team! We’ve set an ambitious goal because we know that with support from people like you, we can get there.
Please help us reach our goal.
