Ride Day: October 22
We are excited to be hosting Bike MS New York City 2023 at Pier 76 located on the West Side Highway between 35th and 36th streets. This all-outdoor location will feature a fun filled start and finish line festival. There will tenting for weather protection available on site.
Pier 76 is very close to Penn Station-NJ Train Transit, Amtrak, Long Island Railroad, Subway, PATH Trains (NJ) and Port Authority Bus terminal-NYC & NJ and cross town from Grand Central train station-Metro North (NY State), CT Railroad, and subway. Pier 76 is accessible via the MTA from 7 train (15 min walk) and A/C/E trains (15 min walk) and from buses M12 and M34-SBS. There is no onsite parking available at Pier 76, but we have put together a curated list of parking garages that are outside the street closure area and will be available ride morning.
Timeline:
- 6:00am
- Pier 76 opens for Elite Team & E-150 with hot breakfast and coffee served by Bareburger and VIP bathroom trailer
- VIP Bag check for Elite 150 Club Members and Elite Team Members opens at Pier 76, here is the full list of New York City Bag Restrictions
- Drop off your team jersey at the jersey contest tent so it is available for voting during the finish line festival, winners will be announced at the recognition ceremony in February 2024!
- Customer Service Tent opens at Pier 76
- Bike Repair sponsored by Trek will be available at each of the breakfast trucks in the start line chute
- Start line chute opens to public:
- Make sure you follow your rider instructions included in your packet and have completed the following:
- Helmets are required on the course. No exceptions
- Filled out the emergency information on the inside of your bib and attached it to your outer most layer of clothing on your back
- Attached your reversible bike plate to the front of the handlebars with your desired route facing out with twist ties provided in rider packet
- Put on your emergency wrist band
- Attached your “Why I ride” ribbon
- Reviewed NYC Bag Restrictions prior to entering chute

- 7:00am: Opening Ceremonies and announcements begin at start line arch at West Side highway and 35th street
- 7:15am: Cyclists released from start line by NYPD
- Start line release is determined by NYPD and is subject to change ride morning depending on street closures
- 8:00am: First cyclists arrive at Inwood Park Rest Stop
- 8:45am (Time is approximate):
- 50-mile cyclists are released from Inwood Park rest stop to proceed to the George Washington Bridge for the 50-mile route.
- This is subject to change due to speed of cyclists and street closures and will be dictated by NYPD
- 50-mile cyclists are released from Inwood Park rest stop to proceed to the George Washington Bridge for the 50-mile route.
- 9:20am (Time is approximate):
- 30-Mile cyclists are released from Inwood Park rest stop and proceed to the West Side for the remainder 30-mile route
- This is subject to change due to speed of cyclists and street closures and will be dictated by NYPD

- 9:30am: Finish line festival opens and lunch service starts at Pier 76
- 10:00am (Time is approximate): First 30 Mile cyclists arrive at Pier 76
- 10:30am: Finish Line Festival will be in full swing at Pier 76 filled with lots of fun for all Bike MS New York City 2023 participants! Featuring:
- Lunch served by Bareburger with single serve snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
- Enjoy a beer at our beer garden
- Top Fundraisers, E-150 club members and Super & Elite teams check out the VIP tent located next to the beer garden at Pier 76
- If you raised $1,000 or more and did not get your Top fundraiser jersey mailed prior to the event stop by the VIP area to get your jersey and credential to activate special finish line perks
- Vote on your favorite team jersey in the team jersey contest sponsored by Primal, winners announced at the recognition ceremony in February 2024
- 12:00pm (Time is approximate): First 50-mile cyclists return to Pier 76
- 1:15pm: (Time is approximate): Last rider arrives from the 50-mile route to Pier 76
- 5:00pm Finish Line festival closes at Pier 84
- Don’t forget to pick your bag at VIP bag check and your bike from bike parking!

Bike MS New York City Kick Off
Join us on Monday April 17th from 6:00-8:00pm to Kick Off the 2023 season at our Gold Level Sponsor Bareburger LaGuardia at 535 LaGuardia Place, New York, NY 10012 for a fun evening where you get to hang out with fellow cyclists and Bike MS Staff. It is also a great time to bring someone who is interested in joining Bike MS New York City this year who wants more information. Appetizers, wine, and beer will be provided by Bareburger. The event will be held on the front patio of the restaurant, weather permitting. Click here to RSVP.
Fundraising Weeks
Both a team and an individual participant can win big during this year’s fundraising weeks.
When:
- Fundraising Week #1: August 14-20
- Fundraising Week #2: September 11-18
Who: Winners for each fundraising week will include both the individual (team member or non-team member) and the team(s) with most money raised online (total dollars) during that week.
Team winners will be determined based on the following two divisions. That’s right, two teams can win during each fundraising week!
- Teams with 15 or more members at the start of the fundraising week
- Teams with 2-14 members at the start of the fundraising week
Prizes:
- Individual Prize: Get ready for ride day kit provided by Trek our Exclusive Mechanical Support Sponsor with all the things you need to get you bike and gear ready, valued up to $350

How to Obtain Your Rider Number Packet
Your Bike MS packet contains important items including your rider bib, event details and sponsor giveaways. In order to receive your packet, you must meet the $250 fundraising minimum and have a completed waiver/safety pledge on file. If you registered via our Bike MS New York City website and are over 18, you have completed the wavier/safety pledge as part of the registration process and no additional action to submit a waiver is required.

No cyclists will be permitted on the route without a rider number.
Mailing Deadline: September 22
To receive your rider number in the mail, we must have received your required waiver/safety pledge and minimum $250 donation. See Ride Info & Requirements section for ride requirements. All packets are mailed via the USPS.

Bike MS is an extraordinary ride no matter where you are! Whether you have a flat tire or need a snack to help get you across the finish line, we’ve got you covered…
Each route includes fully-stocked rest stops every 10 to 12 miles with some of the best snacks and volunteers around. Relax, hydrate, use the restroom, re-apply sunscreen and enjoy the volunteers. Bike mechanics and support and gear (SAG) vehicles will also be on the route to assist you.
After the ride, we will have plenty of food at the finish line.

For the safety of participants please adhere to all the bag restrictions as dictated by the NYPD, large bags that fit into the following specifications are not permitted at the event. For the safety of our riders, large bags and closed baskets are not permitted at the event. Large bags that fit into the following specifications will not be permitted:
- Bags with shoulder straps (including backpacks, hydration packs, drawstring bags, and messenger bags)
- Panniers or bags that hang on the side of your bike
- Covered baskets
- Any bag over 420 cubic inches (6.9 liters)
Approved bags include saddle bags, frame bags, handlebar bags, fanny packs and uncovered baskets.
